Collecting for Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba
Between June 1 & July 9th, we're collecting material aid for the 20th Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba, which will visit Milwaukee with a school bus on Friday, July 10th (6pm potluck and 7pm program at Central UMC, 25th St. & Wisconsin Ave.): especially tools & construction supplies for Cuba's reconstruction after three devastating hurricanes that hit Cuba last summer, but also medicines (exp. Feb. 2010 or later), medical equipment, infant formula, vitamins, computers, school supplies, Bibles in Spanish, and sports equipment. Donations may be dropped off at Central United Methodist Church at 639 N. 25th St., prior to the day of the event (M-F, 9am-1pm & other times, please call the Church at 414/344-1600 in advance.) This network, the Wisconsin Action Alliance, encourages the exchange of ideas, expertise and resources between group members.
